Been busy

Greetings from a (somewhat) warmer Massachusetts!

The last few months have been snow-filled to say the very least.  First, there was a massive blizzard a few weeks ago that literally brought the whole state to a standstill.  Permit me to explain.  A few weeks ago the weather reports indicated we'd be getting a blizzard.  No one really had any estimates on how much snow we'd be getting but needless to say, preparation was key.

Prepare for snow.  Prepare to be bogged down for days.  Prepare.  Prepare.  So, on the morning that I was supposed to work, more on that in a few,I went outside to check the weather and tah-dah,massive asthma attack.  Back upstairs, call in,and then stayed home.  Luckily,my shift, which was supposed to start at 2 was right in the midst of the storm so the store closed at 3 and was closed for the next few days.  I had a few of those days off, surprisingly enough, and so I spent them lounging around the house and just relaxing.

Okay,so for those of you wondering why I've been away so long.  Permit me to explain.  First,I'm working almost every single day!  My life basically revolves around my work.  I know being a "cashier" may not seem like much but obviously I've done enough to impress because I have hours and was voted January's superstar of the month.  (In other words, employee of the month.)  Overall,I'm proud of the success I'm having but still sometimes,it's exhausting.

Still,I try really hard to do the best I can at my job.

Aside from my job life is getting better in other ways.  I am actually in a really good place with a relationship.  I met Nathin while I was cashing him out at work.  He started flirting with me,then asked for my phone number, which I refused to give him,but when I suggested he sign up for email alerts he basically said,"If you give me your email address,I will." and so I did.  I proceded to give him one diget, from my phone number at a time, and then I switched phone companies and gave him the new one.  Mostly,he comes to visit me at work,we occasionally hang out but we talk constantly.  We're actually ATTEMPTING to make date plans for next weekend.

For those of you wondering Nathin is 19.  (He's turning 20 in two weeks!)  He's smart,he's sweet,he's really kind and just has become one of my best friends.  I love how I can talk to him and he just gets exactly what I'm saying without me having to explain myself.  He's encouraged me to try new things, embrace who I am,and even has managed to get me to add to my clothing style.

Anyway, I get a lot of catty remarks over Nathin being younger but you know what?  I really don't care what people think of the age difference.  I am just enjoying myself too much!

Things at home aren't any less stressful despite the fact that I'm in love.  Yeah,I said it.  Tiffany had surgery on Thursday.  For years my sister has had a lump in her arm that we have no idea what it is.  The doctor promptly informed us that Tiff probably got something STUCK in her arm and after years it's calcified.  So,on Thursday I had the day off,a rarity believe me,and Tiff had surgery.  The doctor showed her whatever it was, after it was taken out,and sent to be x-rayed.  In all honesty,it looks,at least according to my sister, like a tooth so the running joke,of course,is,"Okay,Dawn did you bite your sister?"

No.  I would've given her rabies!

Kidding!

On the same day Collin came home from school sick.  Poor, guy!  He had a checkup on Wednesday and everything seemed fine.  Note that word: SEEMED!  Dr. G tries to make Collin's checkups fast and with as little stress as possible.  Unfortunately,he missed one of Collin's ears and it turns out that, that ear was infected!  While Tiff was signing out of the hospital the school called and told us that Collin had a major ear infection.  He was actually on the floor in the nurses office, holding his ears and crying when my mom and Tiff went to get him.  I wound up carrying him upstairs,Tiff gave him some medicine and I put him to bed.

He stayed home from school on Friday and is definitely on the mend.  He's now sitting on the floor, surrounded by toys and playing Angry birds on my sister's tablet.

Austin has been doing pretty well.   It's hard to believe that next week he'll be turning 11.  I'm sure some of you can remember my previous blog when Austin was just a baby.  11 years have flown by.  Of course turning 11 Austin has acted as a typical 11 year old.  Mouthy.  Sarcastic.  In may ways,he's a carbon copy of me,mouthy, sarcastic, stubborn,my sister, whiney, sometimes sweet and highly demanding, and my brother, funny and ambitious,so therefore we got the ulimate payback.  UGH!

I will give Austin credit because he's never afraid to try new things!  He's still in bowling, despite loosing the Survivor Series last weekend, and now he's in Cub Scouts.

I wish I had an update about JJ but I hardly see him and I admit as an aunt it breaks my heart.  He's a sweet baby and I got to see him for his birthday which was awesome.  He's a sweet baby and he's very funny.  He's a big flirt as well.  I actually call him my brother's mini me.

Oh,and for those of you wondering I'm still preparing for the classes and possible adoption.  At lot of folks assumed that when I met Nathin and started our relationship that I'd give up on that.  Not a chance and I guess what surprised everyone else, excluding me,is that Nathin supports my choice.  "You wanted this before you met me so why would I say,"Oooo...I don't think you should."? he asked me one day.  Agreed.  So,no changing plans.  I did discuss my plans with him and he said,"I don't want to be a daddy yet but you want a child and that's what you should do."

I love that support.

Home has been chaotic.  Tiff,New Guy and the boys are still here.  We're hoping to find a bigger house so we can start the classes and get it all done.  I know an adoption won't happen over night or anything but I'm hopeful that at the end things will be the way they're supposed to be.  I wish we could say we don't argue but it's me and Tiff I'm talking about so yes,we do.  We argue a lot but I still love my sister.

Hopefully,she knows that.

Not much else to report.  Mom had to go to kidney doctor recently.  Turns out everything looks sort of good so she won't have to go back for a year.  One of my uncle's fell during the blizzard and had to have hip surgery.  Nathin got another tattoo with a quote from Doug Larson.  I actually found the quote on a website, showed it to him,and then he took a picture of his niece,Hope, and had her tattooed on his shoulder with the quote,"Real elation is when you feel you could touch a star without standing on tiptoed."  I thought that was pretty cool!

I have to work today and don't get a day off until Thursday.  Nathin and I are making plans to go out on Saturday.  We are hoping to go to the movies and see "Snitch" but we'll take what we can get.  I'm planning on getting a mani/pedi today.  I have been having some soreness in my neck and I'm hoping some time in the massage chair will help.  I bought myself an awesome purple shirt and camo skirt yesterday and I'm waiting for a bear from Build a Bear to be delievered today.  (Most likely I will be at work when it arrives.)

So,that's what's going on with me.  Hopefully, you all are doing good.  Latta gators!
