1. Okay,so yet again no enteries for a while. Not sure how long this time but to be honest I've been a little busy. First there's work, which I feel is going rather well, and then there's moving,Yes,again!,and then there's other stuff,More in a second!,and on and on. Every time I turn around it seems my list has expanded...err...exploded.
2. So,as I said I feel work is going well. I mean I like it, I'm doing the very best I can and I help the guests while being funny, bubbly and smart. Learning the inventory for all the departments has not been easy but I'm attempting and I feel like I'm doing pretty well. I hope I get to stay.
3. Unfortunately,my poor feet aren't faring as well. Particularly my left one. I have a callous starting to form on it. OH,and as unattractive as that sounds I must admit that it hurts even more. I work 7,8 and sometimes 9 hour shifts so I'm on my feet alot. I guess I need to hunt more comfy shoes. Maybe with extra padding. Sans the ridge in the middle.
4. So,it's nearly offical. My parents and I will be moving. I'll give you the details once I have more. Right now I'm just TRYING to focus on work and getting out of this apartment with some sanity left. It's been hard lately but work has provided a nice buffer.
5. Songs of the week is "Home" by Deirks Bentley. Great song! I love most of Deirks's music. He's just one of my all-time favorites.
6. Gram update: Gram's actually been doing pretty well during the last few days. I guess some of the issues are the medication. Her liver is failing, which of course causes pain,so what the nursinghome has done, since she's complained that mild pain medications don't work,is put her on what I call heavy hitters. Liquid morphine! It works...almost too well...and knocks her out. She's been lucid for the last few days but unfortunately,I've been sick with this stupid cold or at work!
7. My aunt went to her radiologist/oncologist the other day. He told her he's going to insert a feeding tube to build her up and if the treatments go well it could add,at least,3 to 5 years to her life. It's been so hard to hear all this bad news and not feel bad but I guess suffering builds character. You know as if I'm not enough of one already?!
8. Oh,and to top off the list,as if cancer and liver failure wasn't enough. One of my cousin's was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I've been keeping most of this to myself, with regards to work, and TRYING to not let it effect me. Maybe it's driving me to focus even harder to prove myself. Maybe I'm hoping that the bad stuff will drive me into something good.
9. Still haven't started Christmas shopping yet. Not surprsing. Haven't gotten a paycheck yet. I have some ideas of what to buy and since we're moving I'm going super easy this year. I want to also be able to spoil myself a bit. Is that wrong?
10. In baseball news, I'm disappointed that Jonathan Papelbon is headed to the National League. Sure he's heading to my fave NL team but the simple fact is I was in a bar, on Saturday night, and I said,"Oh,my word! Pap with that stupid red hat on you look like giant zit." Congrats to the Phils but Pap YOU STILL look like a zit! Secondly, the dismissal of Tito opened a spot for a manager on the Red Sox. Who got the job? Bobby Valentine. Little nervous. Ole Bob's not known for being quiet and classy like Tito. So....we'll see. Oh,and Ben Cherrington, Red Sox GM,GET A CLOSER ASAP!
11. So,yeah,I went out on Saturday! Not always my wisest move. I don't get drunk though. I had two somberos with my mom but I limit to Pepsi so I was good. I spent most of the evening watching the Bruins and my friends get wasted. Of course no evening out is without it's dramatics. To the guy,who was stripping in the bar. I don't need to see the Little General and by little I mean little.
12. Going to see the lights in the park soon. Maybe even tonight. No wait. I have to go find sneakers tonight. Maybe this weekend. I'm working tomorrow and Friday but I'm off Saturday and Sunday. Plus, Collin is on antibiodics for strep and pinkeye and Austin has a sore throat.
13. I'm also making plans to go to Lasillette Shrine in a few weeks. I haven't been since I was a kid and I'd love to go. Pictures if I do. It may be tough with the move and everything.
14. Still have a slight cough. It's not fun. I'm using Musinex and taking a lot of showers. Steam tends to do the trick. Luckily, I was able to suck it up and work...even...on the days I felt horrible.
15. Going to cut it off at 15. It is my day off, after all,so I'm going to go and relax. Talk to you all soon.
